This policy covers goebelmedia.com, the website run by Goebel Media Group, LLC (“Goebel Media,” “we,” or “us”). It explains what information we collect through the site, how we use it, and what you can do about it. Work we do for clients is governed by our agreements with them, not by this policy.
The short version
- We collect what you choose to send us, like the details you enter in our contact form.
- We use analytics, session recordings, ad tracking, and call tracking to see which pages and campaigns work, and to show our ads to people who have visited. You can opt out at any time.
- A few service providers help us host the site, deliver messages, and measure traffic. We don’t sell your personal information.
- You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete your information at any time.
Information you give us
When you use the contact form, we ask for your name, email address, and message. You can also add your phone number, your company, and the services you’re interested in. The form also tells us which page you sent it from, so we know what prompted you to reach out, and your device’s time zone, which helps us screen out spam.
If you email, call, or text us, or send a resume for an open role, we receive whatever you choose to include.
Information collected automatically
Every time a page loads, our servers receive some basic technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you asked for, the page that sent you, and the date and time. Our hosting and security providers process it to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don’t use it to identify you.
Analytics, advertising, and call tracking
We use these measurement and advertising tools. They run by default, and the banner you see on your first visit lets you opt out. If you do, none of them loads again in that browser.
- Google Analytics shows us how the site is used: pages viewed, time on each page, the site or campaign that referred you, your device and browser type, and your approximate location, estimated from your IP address. Google Analytics does not store your IP address. We use these reports to learn which pages are helpful and which need work.
- Microsoft Clarity records how visitors use the site: the pages you view, where you click or tap, how far you scroll, and your device and browser type. We can replay a visit as a session recording and see heatmaps of where people click. What you type into the contact form is masked, so it never appears in a recording. We use it to find parts of the site that are confusing or broken. Microsoft may also use this information for its own purposes, including advertising.
- Google Ads tells us when someone who clicked one of our ads goes on to send the contact form, so we can see which ads lead to inquiries. It records that an inquiry happened, not what you wrote.
- Meta Pixel tells us when people who saw or clicked our ads on Facebook or Instagram visit the site or send the contact form, and lets us show our ads there to people who have visited this site. It records that an inquiry happened, not your message. Meta may connect these visits to your Facebook or Instagram account.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag records visits so we can measure our LinkedIn ads and show them to people who have visited this site. LinkedIn may connect these visits to your LinkedIn account.
- CallRail shows a trackable phone number on the site so we can tell which pages and campaigns lead to calls. When you call one of those numbers, CallRail logs your phone number, the time and length of the call, and the page or campaign that led to it.
Google, Microsoft, Meta, LinkedIn, and CallRail handle this information under their own terms. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, the Microsoft Privacy Statement, Meta’s privacy policy, LinkedIn’s privacy policy, and CallRail’s privacy policy. You can also limit the ads you see in your Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn ad settings. To block Google Analytics on every website you visit, install Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Cookies and your choices
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses three kinds:
- Your cookie choice. We save whether you accepted or opted out in your browser’s local storage, so the banner doesn’t appear on every page. It never leaves your device.
- Security. Cloudflare, which delivers and protects our site, may set a short-lived cookie that helps tell people apart from bots. This one and your cookie choice keep the site working, so they’re always on.
- Analytics, advertising, and call tracking. Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and CallRail set cookies to recognize return visits and connect a visit, call, or inquiry to the page or ad that led to it. Meta and LinkedIn also use theirs to show our ads to past visitors. They’re set unless you opt out.
You can opt out, or opt back in, at any time with the button below. When you opt out, Google’s tools stop setting cookies, Meta’s pixel stops sending, and Clarity stops recording right away, and none of these tools loads on later pages. Cookies already in your browser stay until they expire or you clear them in your browser settings.
How we use information
- Answer your questions and send the proposals or information you ask for
- Deliver and support the work you hire us to do
- Review job applications
- Learn which pages, campaigns, and channels are useful, and improve the site
- Measure our advertising and show our ads to people who have visited the site
- Keep the site secure and filter out spam
- Meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations
We don’t sell your personal information. Google Ads only measures which of our ads lead to inquiries. Meta and LinkedIn may use your visits to show you our ads on their platforms; opting out stops that.
Text messages
Goebel Media Group, LLC responds to texts from people who contact us about our services. We don’t send the first message, and we use your number only to reply to you. Reply STOP at any time and we’ll stop texting you.
We never share mobile phone numbers or text messaging opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. None of the sharing described elsewhere in this policy includes text messaging opt-in data or consent.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the site and our business, and only what they need to do that job:
- DigitalOcean hosts the website and the server that handles the contact form.
- Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from attacks and bot traffic.
- Mailgun delivers contact form messages to our inbox.
- Google Workspace runs our email, where inquiries and our replies are kept.
- Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Google Ads, and CallRail measure site use, ad results, and calls, unless you opt out.
- Meta receives the pages you visit and whether you send the contact form, and LinkedIn the pages you visit, to measure and show our ads, unless you opt out.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone’s safety, or to a successor if our business is ever merged or sold.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form messages and correspondence for as long as we need them to reply, to work with you, and to keep ordinary business records. Google Analytics keeps detailed data for the retention period set in our account, after which only aggregated reports remain. Our hosting and security providers keep server logs for a short period under their own policies.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that’s wrong
- Delete your information
- Stop contacting you
Email hello@goebelmedia.com with your request. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we’ll respond within 30 days. If a privacy law where you live gives you additional rights, we’ll honor them as that law requires.
Security
The site runs entirely over HTTPS, so what you send through the contact form is encrypted on its way to us, and access to inquiries is limited to our team. No way of sending or storing information online is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
Children’s privacy
This site is meant for businesses and adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Links to other sites
Our case studies link to client websites, our footer links to our social media profiles, and our Contact page links to Google Maps for directions and to our client support site. Following one of these links takes you to that site, and its own privacy policy applies from there.
Changes to this policy
When we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll call it out at the top of the page.
